Alaska Stimulus Payment: Key Dates, Eligibility, and Payment Amount


The Alaska stimulus payment, also known as the Alaska Permanent Fund Dividend (PFD), is a financial benefit given to eligible residents of Alaska.

This program started in the 1980s and uses some of the state’s oil profits to provide cash directly to people living in Alaska.
 

Who Can Get the Payment?


To qualify for the Alaska stimulus payment, you must meet these requirements:
 
  • Residency: You must have lived in Alaska for all of 2024.
  • Intent to Stay: You must plan to continue living in Alaska.
  • No Residency Elsewhere: You cannot have claimed residency in another state or country during 2024.
  • Criminal Record: You must not have been convicted of certain crimes or been imprisoned.

About 600,000 people in Alaska are expected to be eligible for this payment.

The payment for this year is $1,702.
 

When Will the Payments Be Made?


Payments are made throughout the year in several groups. Here are the key dates:
 
  • August 21, 2025: For eligible unpaid applications from 2024 and earlier years that are ready by August 13, 2025
  • September 11, 2025: For eligible unpaid applications from 2024 and earlier years that are ready by September 3, 2025
  • October 2, 2025: For eligible unpaid applications from 2025 and earlier years that are ready by September 18, 2025
  • October 23, 2025: For eligible unpaid applications from 2025 and earlier years that are ready by October 13, 2025
