If you receive Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) benefits, your July 2026 payment will arrive on one of three Wednesdays this month. The exact date depends on something simple: your birthday.
The Three Payment Dates
The Social Security Administration sends out SSDI payments on a staggered schedule each month. For July 2026, the payment dates are:
- July 8 – For people born on the 1st through the 10th of any month
- July 15 – For people born on the 11th through the 20th of any month
- July 22 – For people born on the 21st through the 31st of any month
This system applies to most people who started receiving Social Security benefits after May 1997.
One important note: If you receive benefits based on someone else's work history—such as a spouse, a parent, or a deceased family member—the birthday that matters is theirs, not yours.
Some People Get Paid on a Different Schedule
Not everyone follows the Wednesday payment dates. If you started receiving Social Security before May 1997, your payment typically arrives on the 3rd of the month instead.
The same is true for many people who receive both Social Security and Supplemental Security Income (SSI).
Speaking of SSI, that program has its own separate schedule. SSI recipients will get their July payment on Wednesday, July 1.
There's also an SSI deposit scheduled for Friday, July 31—but don't mistake this for a bonus. That payment is actually the August benefit arriving early because August 1 falls on a Saturday.
What If Your Payment Doesn't Arrive?
If your check or deposit doesn't show up when expected, don't panic right away. The Social Security Administration recommends waiting at least three extra business days before reaching out to them.
