For many families with lower incomes, some programs offer financial help. This support comes as direct payments that greatly assist them in affording necessities like food, energy, and childcare.

As March 2025 nears, let's look at three key government aid programs that might benefit thousands of Americans.
1. Sacramento Family First
A special program called Sacramento Family First (FFESP) aims to support 200 families by improving children's well-being and cutting down economic differences among people. Families chosen for this program get $725 each month for a year.
This started on December 15, 2024, and will continue until November 15, 2025. The next payment is due on March 15, directly deposited into the bank accounts linked to their tax returns.
2. Alaska Permanent Fund Dividend
Since 1976, the Alaska Permanent Fund has turned the state's oil revenue into a helpful fund for its residents. This fund helps pay for important things like food, living costs, and healthcare. It ensures the money made from the state's oil and gas is shared with Alaskans.
In 2025, the support went up to $1,702, helping around 600,000 residents. Those eligible for the 2024 dividend will get their payments on March 20, 2025.
3. Tax Refunds in New York
New York introduced a refund program funded by sales tax, benefiting up to 8.6 million people with checks ranging from $300 to $500. This came after Governor Kathy Hochul proposed a middle-class stimulus in her budget.
It's part of a larger plan to fight inflation, returning $5.5 billion to taxpayers through rebates, refunds, and extra payments during her time in office.
While these payments were supposed to start in February, some may not get them until March 2025 due to processing delays.
