As the year 2025 comes to an end, many American families continue to feel the pressure of high prices due to inflation.
While the large federal stimulus payments from previous years have ended, some states are still providing financial help to their residents. These payments include rebates, dividends, and tax relief programs.
Which States Are Sending Stimulus Payments in December 2025?
Two states that are continuing to send out money in the last month of 2025 are Alaska and New York. Both of these states have specific programs to help their residents manage the rising cost of living.
Here’s what residents of these states need to know:
Alaska: Permanent Fund Dividend (PFD)
Alaska sends out annual payments to its residents from the state’s Permanent Fund. This payment is known as the Permanent Fund Dividend, or PFD.
For 2025, each eligible Alaskan will receive $1,000.
While most payments have already been sent, those with applications still pending can expect their payments soon.
Upcoming Payment Dates:
- December 18, 2025: For applications confirmed by December 10, 2025.
- January 15, 2026: For applications confirmed by January 7, 2026.
So, if you are an Alaska resident and your application has not yet been paid out, make sure you check your application status.
New York: Inflation Relief Check
New York introduced its first-ever inflation rebate check as part of the 2025-2026 state budget. These payments are a one-time benefit designed to help residents offset the increased cost of living caused by inflation.
Checks started going out in late September 2025.
More than 8 million New Yorkers are eligible, so the mailing of checks is happening in stages.
What To Expect:
- If you are an eligible taxpayer in New York, your check may arrive anytime between late September 2025 and early 2026.
- Residents should watch their mail and be sure their address is up to date with tax authorities.
What Should You Do?
If you live in Alaska or New York, check your eligibility for these programs. Make sure your state has your current information to avoid delays.
These payments may not be as large as previous federal stimulus packages, but they are still a helpful way for many families to deal with high prices.
